PERAN GEMBALA DAN KONSELOR DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEHARMONISAN KELUARGA JEMAAT DI GTDI SUNGAI YORDAN BATAM

Abstract

Family harmony is an important aspect in the lives of Christians, because it is the basis for the growth of faith and a healthy spiritual life. In the context of the church, a harmonious family supports a solid and loving congregation. However, challenges such as the pressures of the modern world, poor communication, and differences in parenting styles often hinder this. The church, especially pastors and counselors, has an important role in guiding the congregation to build families according to biblical principles. This study focuses on the role of pastors and counselors in improving family harmony in the congregation at GTDI Sungai Yordan Batam. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the main sources being the Bible, journals, and relevant books. The results of the study show that pastoral care through Christian family development, marriage seminars, and pastoral counseling contribute to building strong family relationships. Ephesians 5:25 emphasizes that husbands love their wives as Christ loves the congregation, which is the basis of a loving household. In addition to spiritual guidance, pastors and counselors play a role in helping the congregation resolve conflicts wisely, build healthy communication, and create a church environment that supports family harmony. With an approach based on God's word, pastoral care strengthens the foundation of the family in the love of Christ. Thus, this study confirms that the role of pastors and counselors is crucial in building a harmonious Christian family.
