Abstract

Twenty-first century education demands that every individual possesses not only cognitive abilities and skills, but also a strong and adaptive personality. This article discusses the crucial role of spiritual competence as a primary pillar in the character development of students at SMA Negeri 17 Batam in this digital era. Spiritual competence is viewed as an individual's capacity to grasp the essence and purpose of life, and to develop ethical and moral norms that guide actions and social interactions. By holistically integrating spiritual education, it is hoped to produce a generation that is integrated, empathetic, resilient, and capable of wisely facing global challenges
