Tujuan dari jurnal ini adalah untuk mempublikasikan artikel bidang Teologi, Misi dan Pendidikan Agama Kristen. Proses pengolahan artikel ini dilakukan secara double blind review.
Jurnal "Bahtera" terbit 2 (dua) kali dalam satu tahun. Jurnal "Bahtera" kini terbit secara online sebagai kelanjutan dari terbitan cetak pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya.
