Abstract

Bullying is an act of violence that often occurs in today's society, such as in schools, churches, and various communities. This act of bullying continues to increase every year; even Indonesia is ranked fifth out of 78 countries with the highest number of bullying in schools in 2018. Bullying can be in verbal or non-verbal form, which is often experienced by students. Bullying is an aggressive behavior that has the aim of humiliating, intimidating, and causing suffering both physically and mentally to a weak victim because he feels that he (the perpetrator) is a person who has power over other people. This research serves to develop the role of schools in building a culture of love in the school environment and society so that it can prevent an increase in bullying in the school environment. This research uses a qualitative research method with a literature approach and collects information related to bullying from various sources and realities in the field. The results of this research emphasize the role of schools in: 1. building a love curriculum in schools as a basis for developing student character. 2. Improve the rules of love in the school and community environment. 3. Deepen the application of love for others and 4. Form the character of love. By implementing love in the school and community environment, bullying can be prevented from increasing significantly, resulting in a safe atmosphere, awareness, and good social norms in the school and community environment.
