Abstract

The truth that liberates is understood as what Jesus meant by "truth that liberates" and how it implies in pastoral ministry to congregation members. Are there members of the congregation who are also in captivity to sin and need to be set free? What truth does Jesus mean? The author discusses how the theological meaning of Jesus' statement about the truth that frees in John 8:30-37 can help the congregation understand the truth that frees their lives from sin. What is the Meaning or Theological Analysis of the Lord Jesus' Statement of the liberating Truth in John 8:30-37. Aim: Explain the meaning or theological analysis of the liberating truth in John 8:30-37 for Pastoral service to the members of the congregation, using qualitative methods. According to Andreas Subagyo, qualitative research uses data collection methods using interviews, observation and document examination. The conclusion is that the truth that liberates is God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the word that became human and His written word can liberate members. John presented the material, namely the teaching of the Lord Jesus about liberating truth, so that members of the congregation should be helped to continue to profess belief and test themselves.
